Which isn't going to help. I think something like Billy's magic would be more effective, but we're not supposed to be involved: we're not police officers.
[Sometimes, Kate Bishop is the Queen of Bad Ideas. She doesn't hold the title on most days. There are other women who are better in that role, but there are moments, like this one, where she goes with her heart and does something that she knows is stupid.
She knows it's stupid. Throw in the already-picked-up flirting with Tommy and she's definitely throwing herself into the bad idea corral.
But that doesn't keep her from abandoning her current task to her kitchen countertop and heading out for Noh-Varr's place. It takes her about twenty minutes to get there, especially since their apartment isn't especially close to the rows of houses that have been designated for imPorts.
She texts Noh-Varr as she's growing closer, not wanting to usher out any other attention. While it was different on his ship, she doesn't want to welcome the kind of atmosphere that would come with strangers knowing the two of them were having sex or were going to have sex. She'd like to avoid that. As such, she approaches his porch expecting him to be there.
There's a part of her that's not even sure she'll go through with this, but right now, her impulses are winning.]
[If Kate's not sure she'll go through with it, at least there might be some comfort in knowing that Noh-Varr isn't really sure she will, either.
They might not have known each other as well as they should have, or could have, but he knows Kate well enough to know the signs. But is that because she actually means to, really, for real? Or is he somehow, in some way, misinterpreting her signals because he wants so badly for her to come back?
Even if he's the one who ruined things in the first place.
He's sitting on the front porch when she comes down the streets, lurking close to the building itself half in whatever shadow there is. This isn't necessarily to be dramatic, but it is anyway. Noh-Varr can't help it. Avoid drawing attention.
It doesn't even matter to him if she's going to treat it like a shameful secret. Not right now.]
[It's not so much the shame as the attention that bothers her. Right now, Kate doesn't want to draw attention—and she's fairly certain there's a good chance that most people know her face at this point. Kate Bishop has made a habit of being a busy body. She's also made a habit of not always sticking to her proclamations, and one of them had been to swear off boys, but ... well, things happen.
This happens.
The moment she reaches his porch, she reaches down to grab his hand, fingers lacing with his, and she pulls him toward the door to head inside.]
