They might not have known each other as well as they should have, or could have, but he knows Kate well enough to know the signs. But is that because she actually means to, really, for real? Or is he somehow, in some way, misinterpreting her signals because he wants so badly for her to come back?

Even if he's the one who ruined things in the first place.

He's sitting on the front porch when she comes down the streets, lurking close to the building itself half in whatever shadow there is. This isn't necessarily to be dramatic, but it is anyway. Noh-Varr can't help it. Avoid drawing attention.

It doesn't even matter to him if she's going to treat it like a shameful secret. Not right now.
