PERMISSIONS—MEMORY MANIPULATION OPT-IN.
Aug. 4th, 2015 03:49 pmHello, all! Kate will have a new power called "memory manipulation." Essentially, this power will allow her to do the following:
- View a specific memory of up to twenty minutes.
- Manipulate the memory by altering or erasing it.
- She can do multiple memories, but this will require a "break."
- The only way she can manipulate a memory is through contact and specificity. For example, Kate cannot just access that one time Will Graham ate at Five Guys without the specific information attached to it. Now, if it's that one time Will Graham ate at Five Guys and found out he was eating a human burger, then she would likely be able to find it more easily. Specificity counts, especially as she figures this out.
- Her manipulations are permanent unless someone with the telepathic ability is able to go in there and rectify things. Kate will not know this right away!
- She won't be able to just touch people and do this anytime she wants. It will require her touching someone's hand and holding it. She can do it while someone is sleeping, but see the conditions about specificity.
• All players will be considered opted-out until you have said otherwise and we have discussed a plot.
• All players will have extensive discussion before this takes place. It will be up to you, not me, what Kate views, alters, or erases.
• There are a lot of moral implications with this power, and I intend to play with all of them. ICly, Kate will want to only access someone's memories with permission. She hated the extent of information her psychometry gave her, but saw the necessity of it. Now freed from that, she will want to play these things this way.
• If this is a thing you'd like to play with, even for fun stuff like "information exchange, but the other half doesn't remember giving Kate the information," please comment below! We will discuss things here or in PMs.
And finally, Kate no longer has her psychometry, but still retains the knowledge she's gained in the past. She has offered that up as a power for people to use, but will not be advertising her new power.
Thank you!
