PRE-LIBERTY GIRL • Adelaide Watson was born in Maurtia Falls, to a wealthy family with no other children and had lived there her whole life. She studied out of state over at the University of California, majoring in Forensic Science. • She met her future fiance, Casey Vaughn, here. He was a Forensic Science student as well. There are clippings Jacob can find in his search where reporters asked about Liberty Girl's former love life. She was very open about it and talked about how head over heels she and Casey were in the past. • After graduation, they got engaged and moved back to Maurtia Falls and Casey followed. Adelaide moved out of her parents' house and rented an apartment with Casey. She got a job in odontology and Casey as a multimedia forensics scientist. • One evening after dinner, both Adelaide and Casey were mugged on their way home. Adelaide's injuries were not enough to land her in the hospital, but Casey was not fortunate. He had been beaten severely with a pipe, stabbed multiple times, and finally shot in the face. The coroner's reports on Casey's autopsy will be consistent with police reports and what was observed. They will note this was "overkill" for "no discernible reason". Adelaide was "severely lucky" to have walked out of this alive. • Something else Jacob will stumble upon: life insurance reports. Casey and Adelaide had a similar amount of life insurance, but oddly, Casey's before his murder will have been reported higher.
LIBERTY GIRL • Six months later Adelaide took to the streets as Liberty Girl. The men who had murdered Casey were in prison (and currently serving life). She often busted underground activities, such as drug peddling and sex trafficking. Criminals involved in such activities still serving time and/or life are: Rodrigo González and his sister Luiza, Jax Mansfield, and Oliver "Big O" Stanton. They had repeated confrontations with Adelaide before she busted them. • There was no particular area she focsued on in Maurtia Falls as her focus was the underground, but surprisingly (or perhaps unsurprisingly) there were a number of wealthy clients involved which meant scoping out the wealthier areas. • She donated and often tried to appear at charity events focusing on widows and other women who had lost their boyfriends, girlfriends, fiances, etc.
ALLIES • Benjamin Braunstein/The Shield, who also investigated underground activities in Maurtia Falls, would sometimes assist her without taking over her investigations. They were not close and were strictly work allies. • Eric Strauss/Sidewinder has helped her in the past looking into certain drugs. • She was on friendly terms with Joshua Kirby/The Eagle. The media liked to link them together romantically sometimes, but a couple of articles will quote Adelaide as saying, "No, no. Nothing like that. We're kindred spirits, sort of. We both know the pain of loss."
